Pilar Pilapil, ayaw pumatol sa mga artistang pasaway

ISA sa tampok sa pelikulang “Mantsa” ang beteranang aktres na si Pilar Pilapil. Isa itong psychological thriller na mula sa pamamahala ng batikang director na si Louie Ignacio.

Ano ang tip na maibibigay niya sa mga nakababatang artista para magtagal sa showbiz na tulad niya?

Tugon ni Ms. Pilar, “Ang tip ko sa kanila is, you don’t really have to try so hard. If you know your value as an actor, then as long as you understand what your value is, as an actor… because you also have to understand your value as a person, right?

“But you also have a value as an actor…, as long as you understand that and every now and then you probably rate yourself and check yourself and say, ‘Okay where am I now? Am I fifty percent good, am I seventy percent, am I eighty percent?’

“I was always rating myself, as a matter fact, I think I’m one of the very few, I think, I don’t know, but I rarely seldom watch television and I rarely seldom watch films. I am very choosy when It comes to watching films or television shows. And when I watched myself, I am my own critique, I critique myself.”

Pagpapatuloy pa niya, “There are times I would say, ‘Oh, I did it very well.’ There are times also, ‘Oh, I passed, 70-75 percent.’ There are times also I’d say… ‘Well, I think I got it, 100 percent.’ There are times, eighty-five, ninety…’
“So, I rate myself and that’s what every actor should do, rate themselves. So, they will know how far… how they can improve themselves,” mahabang paliwanag pa ni Ms. Pilar.

Nabanggit din niyang naka-encounter na rin siya ng mga artistang pasaway.

Pahayag niya, “Marami na, marami na… example, iyong hindi sumisipot sa shooting dahil na-inlove, you know what I mean? Iyong, she got lost in the wilderness… O kung minsan ay nale-late, tapos kung minsan nagre-rehearsal, pero text nang text. Iyong mga ganoong bagay, ba?”

Esplika pa ng mahusay na aktres, “But I don’t normally confront them, you know, nang diretso.

“I don’t own the set, the director… it’s the director who manages the set. So what I do is, I go talk to the director and whatever observations that I get, I talk to the director about it and he’s the one who solves the problem,” nakangiting wika pa ni Ms. Pilar.

Ang veteran actress ay gumaganap bilang si Lola Pacita sa Mantsa.

Ang pelikula ay hatid ng Dragon Entertainment Productions nina Bambbi Fuentes at Ms. Tine Areola. Co-producer dito si Mr. Ric Valenzuela.
